Summary

[General descripiton] It has rained and the Marree Hotel appears to be marooned in a sea of puddles. A group of people can just be made out on its verandah. A house and fenced garden is on the right. [On back of photograph] 'Reproduced in the "Chronicle", Dec. 24, 1927 / Marree, 450 miles north of Adelaide / 1927 / There ends the good country and dead sea country lies further on for 2/300 miles worth- adjacent to the drying salt lakes. / Just after rain. We just got in at midnight before the rain set in / E.S. Horwood / photo'.
