Summary

No. 237 Trumpeter Arthur Leonard Birchett, 3rd Light Horse Regiment, 'B' Squadron, born Hackney, England. Enlisted Port Pirie, South Australia, 27 August 1914. Embarked on HMAT 'Port Lincoln' 22 October 1914. Wounded in action, Monash Valley, Gallipoli, and died of wounds at sea on HMS Newmarket, 28 May 1915, aged 20. His estate was left to his mother, Mrs Ellen Birchett, of 32 Rodins Road, Homerton, London, England. Believed to have been photographed at Morphettville Camp.
