Summary

[General description] This is the front section of Kapunda's Baptist Church built in 1867. It features twin Italianate towers of bluestone with sandstone quoins. It was principally financed by George Fife Angas, the chairman of the South Australia Company and its architecture reflects the confidence of the mining boom of the era. A little boy stands in the gateway of its white picket fence. [On back of photograph] 'Reproduced in the "Chronicle", Sep. 17, 1927 / Baptist Church, Kapunda / Founded in 1865 / 1927'.
