Summary

[General description] This is the Adelaide Telephone Exchange building showing a large grid of conductors and wires standing in front of the building. On the left a man poses with his horse-drawn vehicle in front of the booking office for John Hill & Co.'s coaching service. Compare with B 1801 taken in 1917. [On back of photograph] 'About 1909 / Acres 237 and 238 / Telephone exchange / Franklin Street, north side / Left side of the Telephone Exchange building is 29.5 yards east of Post Office Place.'
