Summary

[General description] This is a peaceful bushland scene looking across the water of Millbrook Reservoir showing a bridge. A horse and trap stand in the foreground. This reservoir was built during the First World War from 1914 to 1918 both to control flows in the upper reaches of the River Torrens and provide a reservoir in the Mount Lofty Ranges with sufficient elevation for gravity to supply the eastern suburbs of Adelaide. [On back of photograph] 'Millbrook Reservoir / 1920-26'.
