Summary

[General description] The Port River showing wharves, warehouses and shipping.The six masted ship on the right is probably the American lumber schooner, the Dorothy H. Sterling (originally Oregon Pine), which was seized by the Harbors Board in 1929 for non-payment of Harbour charges and crew wages. She was sold to shipbreakers in 1931 and her remains lie in the North Arm of the Port River. [On back of photograph] 'Port Adelaide / 1924-27 / Looking from the flagstaff across McLaren Wharf (projecting portion)'].
