Summary

[General description] A photograph of Torrens Lake with its surrounding gardens taken from the north shore, featuring the popular Floating Dance Palais. Built in 1924 in the Moorish style with five domes it had a dance floor on the lower deck and a promenade on the upper deck. In November 1928 it sank following an explosion on board and was demolished the following year. Note the rustic rails in the foreground.
