Summary

[General description] This new single storey stone building with two small glass panelled windows and a central doorway has its date of construction, 1927, cut into the pediment over its door. Its foundation stone was laid by Mr. D.V. Fleming Esq., South Australia's first Commissioner for Highways and Director of the Local Government Department. [On back of photograph] 'Karoonda District Council Chamber / erected in 1927 / For view of building formerly used by the purpose see B 4225 / Reproduced in "Chronicle" for July 2, 1927.'
