Summary

Furner-Gillap station shearing shed. From back to front: Probably Ray Culley, overseer (standing); ? ; ? ; Bob Brooks; Compton Holloway; Bill Stafford; Jimmie Brennan. The latter four were shearers who regularly shore at Gillap. The Hornsby engine on wheels in the background was installed in 1912 and ran until 1969 when it was given to the Millicent National Trust. The shed was destroyed in the bushfires of 16 February 1983.

Jimmie Brennan, one of the shearers, is James Patrick Brennan born at Millicent on 12 March 1899, one of 8 children of John Richard Brennan & Bridget (nee O'Loughlin). A farmer, he never married, and died at Millicent on 9 January 1986, and is buried there.
