Historical information

Drumcalpin was the home of the Jones family of whom the 'patriarch' was James Jabez Jones, who landed in South Australia in 1856, with his wife Jane, and sons James and Robert. Another son, Frank, was born at Munno PAra West in 1856. Land was first purchased in 1859 as the beginning of the property 'Drumcalpin', named after the area James Jones Senior lived in in Ireland. William Jones, born 19 May 1890, odlest son of Frank Jones, is credited with taking the photos.
