Historical information

The daughter of Maggie Plenty recalls: 'My mother was one of the stolen generation children. '.... She came down with Robert Stott and his family in their car in 1928 when they moved to Adelaide. Mum said they were supposed to be going to Perth to live but he walked in front of a train and was killed. There were no trains in Alice at the time and he was not used to looking out for them. Plus he was deaf so he never heard the whistle. That was the saddest part because mum then had to go and work for someone else...'
