[General description] Upper body portrait of Gilbert White, poet, author and Anglican bishop, who is seated at a table. He is bearded and is wearing a clerical collar and coat. He travelled vast distances by sea and land to service his sparsely settled dioceses. [On back of photograph] 'Born June 9th 1859 / Bishop of Carpentaria 1900 / Bishop of Willochra 1915 / Retired Nov 1925'.
