Summary

[General description] The ruins of the Mount Pleasant Mill which burnt down one Saturday evening in September 1923. Its remaining chimney was declared unsafe in 1951 and demolished. The original steam flour mill was built by Henry Giles in 1862 but only operated for a few years due to disease in the wheat crops. The mill was purchased circa 1900 by Mr. Alf Townsend and became known as the Totness Roller Flourmills, having been remodelled to greatly increase production.
