Summary

[General description] The new school building, partially obscured by trees, is an airy wooden structure on stilts. The old building in the foreground has bamboo blinds on its verandahs, probably to provide shade. Perhaps the man standing in the centre is the schoolmaster. [On back of photograph] 'New school, Port Darwin, 1911 / View from Cavanagh Street, No. 1. Showing old school house not yet demolished and new teachers residence at back'.
