Summary

A two storey building with a shop-front appears to be under the process of renovation or demolition because there is timber stacked on its balcony and its windows are broken. See B 4055 for a view taken in 1927 showing the new building on the vacant lot next to this one. On the right there is a tidy attached two storey cottage with a picket fence which displays a For Sale sign. [On back of photograph] 'Acre 399 / Gouger Street, south side / July 27, 1926 / left side of two story building is 15 yards west of Selby Street. Right side of cottage with slate roof is 33.5 yards west of Selby Street' (Another hand) 'Balcony removed in 1928'.
