Summary

[General description] This cab is one of the fleet of 30 vehicles first used by Yellow Cabs. The Yellow Cabs website states that 'The company chose the very latest A2 Brougham vehicles. These had been specially designed for passenger service, with prototypes first seeing service on the streets of Chicago in 1915. And it was widely acknowledged that these wooden wide bodied, continental-engine powered A2's were in their day, the absolute height of urban transport efficiency.' [On back of photograph] 'Photographed June 15, 1926. / One of the fleet of cars used by the Yellow Cab Company. On the stand at Pulteney St., west side, south of Rundle St.' (Another hand) 'Company commenced operations in 1925.'
