Summary

[General description] The new section of this hospital is two storey and built in the late Federation style. The lattice work and carved wooden embellishments on the verandah are typical of the nineteen twenties. This is probably the new Maternity Wing. (See The Argus (Melbourne,... Monday 2 March 1925). [On back of photograph] 'Pennington Terrace / Acre 701 / June 14, 1926. / Methodist Memorial Hospital / The portion with a balcony was erected in 1925 on a vacant site. Right side of the building is 50.5 yards west of Avenue Road. Frontage of new building is 20 yards.'
