Summary

[General description] A view north along Bent Street to Rundle Street. On the left is the new premises of Clarksons Limited Glass Merchants. Clarksons is Adelaide's oldest glass business, opened by Heinrich Vosz in the 1850s in Rundle Street, Adelaide. He was South Australia's first importer of plate glass. The name of the business was changed to Clarkson Ltd in 1915. Many of Adelaide's churches have windows designed and made by the firm. [On back of photograph] 'Acres 98 & 89 / Bent Street, west side / June 6, 1926 / Clarksons premises erected in 1925. For buildings formerly on the site see B 2648. Near side of Clarksons is 31 yards north of Grenfell Street. Frontage is 40.5 yards.'
