Summary

[General description] A view looking across the lake to the steep banks on the opposite side. It is one of the four crater lakes of Mount Gambier, famous for its blue colour. From December to March, the lake turns to a vibrant cobalt blue, returning to a colder steel grey from April to November. [On back of photograph] 'The Blue Lake, Mount Gambier / Probably in the eighteen eighties'.
