Summary

River steamer 'Gem'. The enclosed "Music Room" on the for'ard section of the second deck is clearly visible in this photograph. This room was not added until 1938. Also visible in the photo are the "modern" windows in the vessel's galley situated on the aft starboard paddle case. These weren't added until very late in her life on the river. [from information provided by researcher].
