Historical information

The watercolour sketches in this album were drawn by Mr F. Nixon, a Civil Engineer in South Australia, and were given by him to Miss Emily Grace Newenham, daughter of C. M. Newenham, High Sheriff of the Colony. She afterwards married Sir Charles Cooper, the first Chief Justice of the Colony and at her death they came to her nephew Major J. S. Henderson, Penmount, Truro, Cornwall, who in 1925 presented them to the Adelaide Library. (Information recorded inside front cover.)
