Summary

Pencil on paper sketch of McKinlay's Expedition, 1865-66: 'return of party to Escape Cliff after their voyage in a rough punt down the Alligator River'.The sketch features a boat under sail near cliffs and a beach. Some of the people on shore are armed. Jagged rocks line the riverbank. [See B 8961 for a somewhat similar illustration from J.W. Bull's 'Early experiences of life in South Australia ...' (1884 edition, opposite page 371).] [Duplicate of B 8961.]
