Summary

[General description] The opening of the Mount Lofty Railway Station showing an American "N" class locomotive. Two stationary steam trains are standing in the station. Dignitaries and passengers stand beside the engine driver and crew. [On back of photograph] Mount Lofty Railway Station 1881-86. Must be after 1880 since this style of locomotive (American, N class) was introduced in 1881. Mount Lofty Station when it was first opened. Sweet Adelaide 724.
