Summary

[On back of photograph] '1913 / First picnic of Old Residents' Association / E. F. Crouch President / Taken 2nd April 1913 at Mount Gambier Showgrounds.' [General description] This group photograph shows the residents, dressed in their best, sitting in the Showground grandstand, a typically Victorian building with iron lace decoration on its roof supports. The little boy in white in the front row is the only youngster to be seen. On each side of the photograph are insets of small portraits of notable old residents. Names from the top left: John Livingstone, pioneer squatter, Abraham Wallace, Joseph Carter, Alex Mitchell, Wm. Allen Crouch, John McDonald, W.J.S. Clarke, John Leake. Top right side: Dr. J.E.D. Wehl, Jas. A.C. Hunter, C.G. Doughty, P. McArthur, Arch McArthur, Hastings Cunningham, Anthony Sutton, Robt. R. Leake. [Names supplied by Mr. E.F. Crouch of Mount Gambier, donor of photo.]
