Summary

Locomotive carrying motor cars to the Eastern States. [The locomotive is an unstreamlined 500 class 4-8-4 belonging to the South Australian Railways. Originally 4-8-2 but modified for booster with a new trailing truck. Made by Armstrong UK (1923?) after appointment of Mr Webb from the USA. In late 1930's all but 503 and 506 were partially streamlined in the style of the Southern Pacific Railroad 'Daylights'.]
