General notes

The vessel in this photo is far too long to be the 'Marion'. This vessel's length, combined with the two rear windows in the top deck music/smoker's room clearly indicate that this vessel is the P.S. 'Ruby'. The 'Ruby' ceased trading in the early 1930's, so this photograph was definitely not taken in 1949. More likely in 1928 when she did her last regular run between Morgan and Swan Hill. The afore-mentioned Music Room and larger paddle boxes indicate that the photo was not taken any earlier than 1916, as these were added in that year. [from information provided by researcher].
