General notes

This photograph appeared in the 'Advertiser' on Monday 9 July 1928, p.14, with the caption: 'Miss Rees George, patron of the Advanced School for Girls' Old Scholars' Association, gave an afternoon tea on Saturday in honour of Miss C.E. Ellis, who has resigned her position as headmistress of the Adelaide High School. Those who were present are included in the photograph.' An inset photograph not included in this group scene had officials of the association and three former teachers at the school. The occasion, for the 49th anniversary of the founding of the Advanced School for Girls, was held in the Elder Park kiosk given to the city of Adelaide by SIr Edwin Smith. The cover on the original of the photograph includes a newspaper cutting listing the names of all who attended.
