Summary

Lindsay House, Angaston, built in the late 1840s by Henry Evans, the brother in law of John Howard Angas, who was very influential in the establishment of South Australia's wool industry. He bought the first Merino sheep in 1845 for Lindsay Park, where this house is situated. George Fife Angas moved into this house c. 1855. In 1965, the Lindsay Park property became the famous thoroughbred horse stud and training facility, established by Colin Hayes, and known as Lindsay Park Stud.
