Historical information

Percival George McKay and Robert Edwin Christie enlisted on 17 August 1915, left Australia on the 'Malwa' on the 2 December 1915 and served with the 10th Battalion, 12th Reinforcement. Christie was killed in action on 23 July 1916. From the embarkation rolls we know that Alfred Douglas Barker, Roy Bishop, Robert MAxwell Brown, Alexander James Lamey, William Lawson, Rupert Victor Mansfield Millhouse, John Richard Nash, and Albert John Seebohm were also from Mount Gambier and on the 'Malwa' - it seems likely that the two unidentified soldiers are from that group.
