Summary

Waymouth Street, Adelaide, north side, on November 1st, 1923. The view features the Bickfords Cordial Factory. This business was founded by William Bickford soon after his arrival in South Australia in 1839. After his death in 1850 his family carried on the business, which became known as A.M. Bickford & Sons. In 1874, after the acquisition of the South Australian Cordial and Aerated Water Factory, at these Waymouth Street premises, the company began producing superior cordials and aerated drinks. Bickford's premises stand directly opposite Young Street.
