Summary

Panoramic view of Clarendon on Onkaparinga River. The Kaurna people were the original inhabitants of this area. The land was surveyed in 1840 and vineyards were planted in 1846 on land purchased by English benefactor William Augustine Leigh. By 1866 the town was a regional centre where wheat, peas amd potatoes were largely grown
