Summary

Wharf at Morgan, 14 November 1894. This was built between 1877-1912 and was the hub of the busy riverside port. The red gum and blue gum wharf was extended several times to cope with the river trade. Morgan was named after twice Governor of South Australia Sir William Morgan. The town was surveyed in 1878 and previously the Aboriginal name for the area was Koerabko which meant a great place for honey and the meeting of tribes
