Summary

Caricature sketch, probably issued by the Adelaide Free Press, featuring Nathaniel Hailes ("Timothy Short") in the middle. The central figure holding in both hands the item lettered "Free Press" depicts Nathaniel Hailes (Timothy Short). Compare with B 15998/6. This lithograph was almost certainly issued by The Adelaide Free Press conducted by Hailes in its first number, October 7, 1841 which according to an advertisement in the "Southern Australian" October 5, 1841 page 26, was to contain Pen and Ink sketches, No. 4 (continuing a series commenced by Hailes in the Adelaide Independent and Cabinet Amusement)
