Summary

Bark mill and tannery in Edward Street, Mt. Gambier. In 1885 the mill was owned by JA McLeish. In 1955 the site was used as a motor garage by Mr Les Robinson. Bark was stripped from wattle trees, dried and then used for tanning hides. The bundles were taken by drays to Wilkie's mill. The stripped wattle trees died and were later used as firewood.
