Summary

Pennington Terrace, north side, 15 March 1925, Opening of St. Marks University College (formerly the residence of Sir John Downer) founded in 1925 is affiliated with the Anglican Church of Australia. It is located next to St Peter's Cathedral. The College was named after the saint on whose day the ANZAC landing at Gallipoli took place. A new wing was opened in 1926 and a second in 1927. The College was opened by the Governor Lieutenant--General Sir Tom Bridges and blessed by Bishop Nutter Thomas
