Summary

[General description] A post and rails fence follows the sweep of the road in the foreground of this view of ships in Victor Harbor. The Harbour Masters house and Customs Officer's dwelling is on the left with moored shipping seen centre to right. It is difficult to see much of the ships in this grainy photograph. [On back of photograph] 'Victor Harbor / December 1879 / Ships in harbour from left: 'Glen Osmond' loading wool (top of masts only showing above the Harbour Master's House / 'Atma' unloading screw piles for the new jetty / 'Garnett' loading wool / 'Queen of the South' smaller vessel alongside 'Garnett' / 'Barge John Robb' on the beach used in breakwater construction'
