Summary

Thomas Henry Williams flour mill, staff: Back: H. Lockwood, Alf Lewis, J.R. Telfer (Manager); Front: Bert Lockwood, Watty Lockwood, Tom Lewis. TH Williams Steam Flour Mill began operation in 1867, its internal area being 65 feet x 75 feet. It was one of several mills erected by Williams in the South East. It passed to T Wilson who held it for 20 years. Massive enlargements to the building came in 1898-1901. "The business which commenced gristing wheat into flour in a new building opposite Fidler and Webb in 1867 has consolidated for more than 100 years and today is one of the oldest trading firms in the South East". (1984) Blue Lake Oatmeal Mill, formerly Commercial Mill.
