Amos William Howard, discoverer of Subterranean clover. This species of clover is used in farming to produce a dense crop and also for longer lasting grazing pasture. Amos William Howard of Mount Barker supplied information and seeds for farmers in temperate climates around the world. Many struggling farmers benefited from his generosity.
