Summary

Jeffcott Street, Whinham College was founded by John Whinham in 1854. It flourished until the 1870s when the attendance was between 200 and 300 students. He retired in 1873 and his son Robert who took over the helm of the college was unfortunately killed after a fall from a horse. The school closed in 1898
