Summary

[General description] Port Adelaide, showing the temporary bridge over the Port River used for traffic whilst the Jervois Bridge was under construction. Originally the plan was to keep the old bridge in use whilst the new one was built alongside but the construction work on the approaches to the bridge made the old one unsafe. A temporary bridge (seen here) was built and the old one demolished. The new bridge is built on the footprint of the old. Note the patient workhorse with a nosebag.
