Historical information

Elisa Taeuber, nee Pontt is recorded as saying "....there were three cottages and a private house when they arrived in Tailem Bend and Hermann Taeuber built the first local hall and the Commercial Bank and carved the counter with Elisa opening the first account". ( "Vox" reports in an interview of Elisa Taeuber 16th of October 1944 - The Advertiser). [from information provided by researcher]. The bearded gentleman on the left of this photograph could possibly Hermann Taeuber or Heinrich Pontt (father of Elisa)
