Summary

View of township of Macclesfield. George Davenport was a director of the South Australian Company who sent his son George Francis to Adelaide to select land. He selected land on the upper reaches of the River Angas which is now the town of Macclesfield. George Francis returned from England with his wife but died two years later after his return to South Australia
