Summary

A watercolour in oval presentation of the residence of William James Isbister, located on the east side of Strangways Terrace, North Adelaide. Right side is 145 1/4 yards north of Montefiore Hill. Frontage of the building is 16 1/4 yards. Signed 'W. Tibbits 97' within painting area, lower right edge. On back of wooden panel is a hand-drawn map showing its location, behind 'Carclew' on Montefiore Hill. (The house no longer exists.). William James Isbister was a member of Adelaide University Council for over 40 years. He was one of the best equity lawyers to practise in South Australia. He was made KC in 1916 and awarded MBE in 1918. He died aged 84
