Summary

Reproduction of an original line and wash drawing by architect Percy Banks of the four masted steel barque 'Pamir' lying in Shadwell Basin, London, after completing a voyage from New Zealand. The drawing was published in 'The Illustrated London News' 9 October 1948. The text underneath gives details about the decision by the New Zealand Government to return the ship to Finland, and the history of the ship during the war whilst in New Zealand's custody.
