General notes

The vessel on the port side of the 'Gem' is the stern wheeler 'Corowa'. PS Gem was originally built as a barge by Captain Elliott Randell in 1876 and was converted to a paddle steamer the following year. The Gem was remodelled in 1882 so she was able to provide three decks of acommodation, saloons, smoking rooms, ladies' lounge and a dining room. She sailed between Morgan and Mildura until 1952. The Corowa was built in Moama in 1868 and after a lengthy life the paddle steamer went out of service in 1930
