George Gibbes Mayo, engineer, married to Henrietta May (nee Donaldson) He was a member of John McKinlay's 1865 expedition to the Northern Territory. He lived at Hill Street North Adelaide. He was father of noted women's health pioneer Dr Helen Mary Mayo, and noted psychologist George Elton Mayo. Another son, Sir Herbert Mayo was a noted jurist.
