General notes

John Thomas Walker, born 1848 in Lincolnshire, lived at Bohm Terrace in the terrace closest to the camera in 1892. After his first wife, Mary (nee Eddy), died in 1892 leaving him with 10 children, he remarried and had 3 more children with his second wife, including her 3 children from a previous marriage - this made 16 children. It is unclear when the family left the house or if they resided in it after the death of Mary. John Thomas Walker had extensive business interests in the mid north. [from information provided by Walker descendant] The photograph shows an attractive row of four two storey bluestone houses with upper balconies and bay windows. Bohm Terrace stood in Archer Street North Adelaide on the northern side near Curtis Street.
