Summary

Unveiling of Statue of Queen Victoria, 11 August 1894. This photograph was taken from thje Adelaide Town Hall and among the crowds in the centre of Victoria Square for the ceremony are defence forces, police and firemen in full uniform. Military bands played and children sang Song of Australia. Lady Smith wife of Sir Edwin smith unveiled the statue which had been placed in the most central position of the city.
