Summary

Clayton Church Fete at Sir Edwin Smith's residence, The Acacias. The Acacias is situated in the eastern Adelaide suburb of Marryatville nearthe corner of Kensington Road and Portrush Road. Sir Edwin Smith was a regular churchgoer and for many years the deacon of Clayton Congregational Church at Kensington. Sir Edwin laboured all his life for the good of the community. The photograph shows many parishioners sitting at tables and chairs in the grounds of Sir Edwin's home. The Acacias is now part of Loreto College.
