Summary

Group in front of the only residence on Reevesby Island, largest island in the Sir Joseph Banks Group, 17 January 1907. L-R: Philip Henry Sawyer (24 yo, son of Charles Sawyer), Richard Sawyer (aged 50), Reuben Sawyer (aged 7), Henry George Sawyer (aged 9), Dorothy Sawyer (aged 3), Amelia Sawyer (aged 35) holding Gladys Sawyer (aged 1), Eva Crocker Sawyer (20 yo, daughter of Charles Sawyer, brother of Richard Sawyer, who co-leased and lived on the island, and Captain Patrick Weir from the S.S. General notes

Members of the Australasian Association for the Advancement of Science visited Reevesby Island as part of their tour of the islands of Spencer Gulf following the 11th session of the Association in Adelaide. The photo appears in the book 'A cruise in the steamer "Governor Musgrave" among the islands in Spencer's Gulf, January 1907' and in the Observer newspaper, 16 February 1907, page 32.
